UNU-KNCU Global Seminar: Jeju Session 2005
Jeju Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the world, and often referred to as the ¡°Island of World Peace¡±, is the location for the upcoming UNU-KNCU Global Seminar from 14 July to 18 July. In cooperation with the United Nations University (UNU), the Korean National Commission for UNESCO and the Institute of Peace Studies, Cheju National University, UNU-KNCU Global Seminar: Jeju Session invites one hundred university students from different countries to examine the current global issues, with a particular focus on peace and sustainable development, through lectures, group discussions and field trips. This Seminar will provide an opportunity to learn from distinguished scholars from Korea and abroad, as well as engage in active exchange and debate with other participants.

A. Requirements for participation
The Seminar is open to undergraduate and graduate students, irrespective of their major and nationality. Since all lectures and discussions are delivered in English, a good working knowledge of English is essential.
B. Participation fee
The participation fee is 150,000 Korean won (ca. 16,200 yen, 1,240 yuan or 150 US dollars). It covers accommodation, meals, field trip and seminar documents. Transportation costs to the Seminar location are not included.
C. Certificate
Each participant will receive an official certificate upon successful completion of the Seminar.
D. Application
A completed application form and a statement of motivation should be sent to the Korean National Commission for UNESCO through e-mail only. (infoyouth@unesco.or.kr)
